Strip Scribbles: Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville Casino opens tomorrow

First guests for the much-anticipated Margaritaville Casino at the Flamingo will walk through the red ribbon at noon tomorrow. The new casino features 220 slot machines, 22 gaming tables and the 5 O’Clock Somewhere center bar. The Fourth Annual Barrett-Jackson Car Auction last weekend racked up record numbers with more than $24 million in sales and 60,000 collectors bidding on 580 vehicles sold in three days at Mandalay Bay. 40 NBA stars to use lockout for new L.V. championship series?

As NBA league officials and players resume negotiations today, there’s an overnight report that 40 basketball stars have agreed to compete in a new championship series headquartered here in Las Vegas.
