‘Peepshow’ celebrates 3rd anniversary at Planet Hollywood

Holly Madison -- TV viewers know the blonde bombshell from “The Girls Next Door” and “Holly’s World” on E! Entertainment and as Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner’s ex -- has become synonymous with the hit Strip topless show “Peepshow” at Planet Hollywood, partly because she is the first star from Hollywood, music and Broadway to continue with the extravaganza after an initial contract. Also partly because she happily goes topless in “Peepshow.”
Madison going topless in “Peepshow” = a box-office bonanza, hence her contract renewals. (She has reportedly said that she spent a lot of money on her breast augmentation, so why not show them off? You go, girl.)
But Madison wasn’t with the adult twist on children’s classic stories when it debuted on the Strip in 1999. Remember her predecessor in the role as Bo Peep? Hints: She is a “Dancing With the Stars” champion and an actress on “General Hospital.”
As “Peepshow” celebrates its third anniversary tonight, let’s huff and puff and salute the three previous Peep Divas, the pre-Madison Bo Peep, plus the leading man, the current Peep Diva and Madison’s substitute Bo Peep who have kept “Peepshow” hot, hot, hot at Planet Hollywood.
Mel B (the original Peep Diva)
Tell me what you want, what you really, really want, and I’ll tell you what you want, what you really, really want. Melanie Brown, aka Scary Spice of the Spice Girls, is the first Peep Diva, and, while she never went topless, she did etch a notch in audience members’ minds with her six-pack abs. Scary, indeed!

Kelly Monaco (the original Bo Peep)
Pint-sized Kelly Monaco is a longtime star of “General Hospital,” and her luck with ABC continued when she won Season 1 of “Dancing With the Stars” with Alec Mazo. She is celebrated Broadway director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell’s first Bo Peep. Alas, she also kept her top on in the production.

Shoshana Bean (Peep Diva No. 2)
When Mel B. and Monaco left “Peepshow,” along came Madison and Broadway talent Shoshana Bean, a brunette whose personality and chutzpah filled the Peepshow theater. She didn’t go topless during her run, but her charisma brought oomph to “Peepshow.”

Aubrey O’Day (Peep Diva No. 3)
Singer and TV personality Aubrey O’Day isn’t one to shy away from controversy. She was fired by Diddy from the girl band Danity Kane n 2008 and most recently left “Celebrity Apprentice” without being fired by the Donald (“the show was too much” was the official excuse). In “Peepshow,” she is the first Peep Diva to go topless.

Josh Strickland
Broadway star Josh Strickland (“Tarzan”) is part of the original cast of “Peepshow,” and he holds more than his own with the sexy women and guy candy. Josh, a “Holly’s World” co-star, knocks it out of the ballpark with Aerosmith’s “Pink” and Ginuwine’s “Pony.” He can rock leather pants and dance, too.

Cheaza
While her predecessors are known for their music, TV and Broadway work, it is the reigning Peep Diva who has the looks and the voice for the lead role -- the perfect Peep Diva -- according to Mr. Vegas DeLuxe Robin Leach. Nice reference, right? Cheaza recently released a single and has her own 2012 calendar.

Angel Porrino (occasional Bo Peep)
When Madison is on vacation, Angel Porrino, Madison’s former personal assistant on “Holly’s World,” steps into Bo Peep’s heels. Porrino has a full-time gig with the wonderful adult circus “Absinthe” at Caesars Palace. Madison reportedly gave Porrino a boob job for her 21st birthday. How’s that for an office perk?
