In the weekend of UFC 143 at Mandalay Bay Event Center, Hollywood and sports stars mixed and mingled near and far from the octagon. UFC welterweight fighter Carlos “Natural Born Killer” Condit held his official after-fight party with his wife, Seager McCullah, and friends at Chateau Nightclub & Gardens in the Paris on Saturday.
Earlier in the evening, Condit won the welterweight championship in a controversial five-round battle against Nick Diaz. Although sporting an injury under his right eye, Condit was surrounded and congratulated by fans and look relaxed in a white dress shirt and blue jeans in his VIP booth. He posed for photographs with fans throughout the night.
Before Condit’s arrival, singer Leona Lewis and Russell Simmons’ daughter Angela Simmons were at Chateau taking in the sights and sounds of DJ Carlo Astuti. Also at Chateau: the Benchwarmer ladies, plus “Friday Night Lights” actress Aimee Teegarden.
Thanks to Edison Graff of Stardust Fallout for his photo gallery at Chateau.
NICK DIAZ AT GALLERY
Diaz hosted his post-fight party at Gallery Nightclub in Planet Hollywood. Partygoers erupted into cheers when the DJ announced Diaz’s arrival, and he was in good spirits as he made his way through the club posing for pictures and talking with fans.
Diaz partied with friends, and they enjoyed glasses of SIP Moscato and Grey Goose cocktails into the early morning hours. The group danced to hits including Drake’s “Headlines” and Black Eyed Peas’ “Don’t Stop the Party.” Thanks again to Graff for his photos.
POST-UFC 143 PARTY AT TRYST
UFC champion Georges St-Pierre hosted a post-fight party at Tryst in the Wynn. St-Pierre, coming off knee surgery, partied with an entourage of 20. Retired UFC star Chuck Liddell joined the group later in the evening, arriving with a group of eight. Bruce Buffer, the official voice of MMA, kicked the party into full swing with his group of 30.
Josh Koscheck, celebrating his split-decision win over Mike Pierce, cruised into the hotspot with 15 guests. Also at Tryst: Angela Simmons and 12 others celebrating a friend’s birthday. The balloon-decorated VIP table was stocked with Grey Goose and Riesling, and the birthday girl was presented with a cake.
To help the stars celebrate the night, DJ A-Trak was on the decks spinning. The resident DJ had his own honor to celebrate Saturday, as he recently graced the cover of Billboard’s dance revolution issue alongside Skrillex and Diplo.
FABRICIO WERDUM AT TABU
UFC heavyweight fighter Fabricio Werdum celebrated his UFC 143 victory against Roy Nelson at Tabu Ultra Lounge in MGM Grand, and Bryan Haraway was on photo duty for the evening.
AT UFC 143 AND FOGO DE CHAO
The list of Hollywood and sports VIPs at UFC 143 was long and star-studded: Joe Jonas, Toby Keith, Mandy Moore, Derek Hough, Minka Kelly, Joel Madden, Benji Madden, Vanilla Ice, Wilmer Valderrama, Alex Rodriguez, Pete Rose, Georges St-Pierre, Anderson Silva, Urijah Faber, Clay Guida, Chuck Liddell, Nate Diaz, Mark Munoz, Gray Maynard, Frank Mir and Stephan Bonnar.
Before fight night, many of the UFC stars, along with ring girls, dined at Fogo de Chao on Friday in support of the charity It Ain’t Chemo. Meals with the athletes and ring girls were auctioned off earlier in the evening at an event at Mandalay Bay. Fogo de Chao attendees: Randy Couture, Forrest Griffin, Chuck Liddell, Kevin Hoyt, Stephanie Cook, Jacob Duran, Tracy Lee, Martin Kampmann, Jay Heiron, Natasha Wicks, Clay Guida, Ryan Couture, Dave Fara, Greg Jackson, Michael Kreple, Kyle Kingsbury and Karyn Bryant.
