The spotlight shines on all the Oscar stars in Hollywood this weekend, but we have our own authorized Academy Awards red carpet party, too. “Defending the Caveman” star Kevin Burke, who hosts, has even made a prediction for the movie to walk away with the gold statuettes.

“As a psychic, I’m safely predicting that ‘The Artist’ will clean up, leaving a stunned audience having to clap and cheer for a film most of them haven’t seen,” he told me. Kevin’s prediction was the same as made by my pal, actress Joan Collins. Johnny Avello, the uncannily successful race and sports book director at the Wynn, has predicted 2 to 5 odds on “The Artist” winning. He’ll host a viewing party for the 84th annual awards at the Wynn and says “The Descendants” is second at 7 to 1.

While 1 billion viewers in 225 countries are expected to tune in for the annual awards of glitter, glamour, gowns and glory on ABC, the stars will be shining in Las Vegas on Sunday, too. Kevin will join Oscar winner Shirley Jones and Emmy and Tony winner Hal Linden on the red carpet at Brenden Theaters in the Palms where the live telecast will be shown and followed by an after-party at the Playboy Club. Our local Oscar Night celebration salutes Shirley and benefits Variety Children’s Charity of Southern Nevada.

2011 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Strip stars will be out in force, with cast members of “Fantasy,” Australian Bee Gees, Recycled Percussion, “Peepshow,” “Absinthe” and Thunder From Down Under expected to attend. Also: Donna D’Errico (“Baywatch”), Jasmine Dustin (“Rush Hour 3”), Victoria’s Secret model Dana Ceres, model and pro volleyball star Chelsea Rashoff, Ink Spots, Tiara Parker (“Desperate Housewives”), Angel Porrino, Rick Faugno and Zowie Bowie. The red carpet arrivals start at 3 p.m. Sunday at the west entrance to the Palms.

The spotlight shines on another set of beauties Sunday competing in the Mrs. Nevada America Pageant at the Suncoast directed by Jackie McKenna, who won the title in 1990 and placed in the Top 10 at the national pageant. Ten of Nevada’s most accomplished and beautiful married women will vie for the crown judged in evening gown, swimsuit, overall beauty and a four-minute judges interview. View them all at MrsNevadaAmerica.com. The Nevada Princess Pageant precedes with Little Miss (ages 4 to 6), Young Miss (7 to 9), Pre-Teen (10-12) and Teen (13-16).

Chippendales at Planet Hollywood's Pleasure Pool

The ladies get their beefcake to ogle when “The Bachelor” star Jake Pavelka, who told me that his “stamina is unstoppable,” starts a four-week run tonight as guest host at Chippendales in the Rio to celebrate the stripping hunks’ 10th anniversary.

Get ready for the rush! Tickets for Madonna’s Oct. 13 tour stop at MGM Grand Garden Arena go on sale at 10 a.m. today. They will either be sold out, or sales end at 5 p.m. Use the password “electronic” because general public sales don’t start until Monday. However, I’m betting that it’ll be sold out within minutes, so watch for a second show to be added Oct. 14.

Super Bowl XLVI Media Day With Madonna
