It truly was an event that went to the dogs as Strip celebrities turned out for Celebrity Bingo Bow Wow at Veil Pavilion in Silverton Casino Lodge on Saturday to raise funds for the Nevada Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to support its no-kill animal shelter.
Attendees included Richard “The Old Man” Harrison from “Pawn Stars, Zak Bagans and Aaron Goodwin from “Ghost Adventures,” pro BMX rider Ricardo Laguna, magicians Nathan Burton, Murray Sawchuck and Tommy Wind, The Gazillionaire, Penny Pibbets and Angel Porrino from “Absinthe” and Josh Strickland from “Peepshow.”
Plus, cast members from “Phantom -- the Las Vegas Spectacular,” “Fantasy,” Recycled Percussion and Thunder From Down Under. “Fantasy” and Thunder cast members performed during the event, as did Season 10 “American Idol” finalist Jacob Lusk, who sang a song by his idol, the late Whitney Houston.

I walked a Yorkie on the red carpet and called the first Bingo game. Redhead Tara Palsha told me that she now re-creates an Ann-Margret movie moment from 1964’s “Pleasure Seekers” in “Vegas -- The Show!” when she drives a Vespa onto the Saxe Theater in Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile Shops. Angel showed me her new backless T-shirt designs that will become a summer fashion.
Each celebrity walked the red carpet with a dog or goat of his or her choice provided by Nevada SPCA, and the event raised $7,000. Thanks to Sally Steele of Vegas Rocks! Magazine and Nick Leonard for their photo gallery.
