Ricky Stenhouse Jr. won his first race of the season Saturday afternoon in the Sam’s Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where he led the final 54 laps, and contributing photographer Tom Donoghue was onsite for all the high-speed racecar action.

Mark Martin finished second in the 200-mile race ahead of polesitter Elliot Sadler, who rallied after a mid-race pit stop to fix a vibration. Fan favorite Danica Patrick finished 12th in the first race at LVMS since Indianapolis 500 champion Dan Wheldon, 33, died in a crash last Oct. 16.

Congratulations to Stenhouse on his first victory of the season.
