After months of speculation and reports by my esteemed colleague Robin Leach, a live version ABC's hit series "Dancing With the Stars" will come to the Tropicana for a 12-week residency, the hotel-casino officially announced today.
"Dancing With the Stars: Live in Las Vegas" kicks off its run on Saturday, April 14, at the Tropicana Theater. The 80-minute live show will feature favorite dance routines from past seasons, as well as brand new numbers.
Performers will include "DWTS" alums like Carson Kressley, Joey Fatone, Kyle Massey, Sabrina Bryan, Tia Carrere, Dmitry Chaplin and Lacey Schwimmer. The show also will feature routines from the "Las Vegas Troupe."
Today's news comes on the heels of the reality TV competition series' Season 14 premiere March 19, which features cast member and Las Vegas resident Gladys Knight with pro partner Tristan MacManus.
A prediction of tonight's first elimination episode, which had tennis legend Martina Navratilova and her pro partner Tony Dovolani going home, was posted today.
The Tropicana show will perform eight times per week: Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m., Fridays at 9 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 and 8 p.m.; the show is dark Tuesdays.
Tickets are on sale and $40 to $89. VIP packages also are available for $165. Tickets can be purchased online via the Tropicana's website and Ticketmaster, or in person at the Tropicana box office.
