The official weigh-ins for “Sugar” Shane Mosley, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez with promoter Oscar de la Hoya, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Miguel Cotto took place at MGM Grand Garden Arena on Friday afternoon, and contributing photographer Tom Donoghue was on duty for the tense and drama-filled spectacle.

Donoghue reports that Las Vegas resident Mayweather Jr., who will serve a nearly 90-day prison sentence shortly after the fight for domestic battery, and Puerto Rico’s Cotto had to be pulled apart, as things got a little testy between the two super-welterweight boxers at the weigh-in.

The athletes face off tonight, with celebrities in attendance and hosting after-fight parties on the Strip. Thanks to Richard Corey for his video of the weigh-ins at MGM Grand Garden Arena posted on YouTube.
