Hotter-than-hot Grammy-nominated singer Drake celebrated his MGM Grand Garden Arena concert after-party at Tao in the Venetian on Friday night. Before Tao, Drake shouted out Tao a few times during his concert; once at the Venetian hotspot, one of his first stops was the DJ booth to take the mic as partygoers cheered his arrival.
Drake treated the nightclub patrons to a set of his hits, ending with his most recent single, “The Motto.” He told the crowd that he also was celebrating his friend C.J.’s birthday and asked partygoers, “Las Vegas, are you ready to have a party tonight at Tao?!”
Drake’s group, including Roc Nation rapper J. Cole and hip-hop legend Marley Marl, then partied at VIP tables on the dance floor. DJ Future the Prince kept up the party energy, while some of Drake’s hits, including “HYFR” and “Headlines,” were played.
Drake and his group stood atop their booth overlooking the dance floor while rapping along to songs and his own music. Tao’s Bottle Fairy flew across the club as a cocktail waitress on a chair bar-mitzvah style traveled through the sea of clubgoers to deliver Cristal bottles to Drake’s group. C.J. was presented with a birthday cake as confetti rained in the nightspot.
Custom Tao yarmulkes were sent to Drake’s table, a nod to his video for “HYFR” featuring a not-so-typical bar mitzvah, and the group promptly put them on. Singer Sean Paul was spotted taking in the action at a VIP table on the dance floor after dining at Tao.
MAXIM FRIDAYS AT TAO BEACH
Tao Beach celebrated the launch of Maxim Fridays, with supermodel Jessica White playing hostess with the mostess. Maxim’s March cover girl Dominique Storelli joined White in the grand banana, and the ladies enjoyed food from Tao and took in the scene, while daytime revelers enjoyed Orange Dragon cocktails from Stoli Elit.
Thanks to Al Powers of Powers Imagery for his photo gallery of the day-and-night fun at Tao.
