Pooled Resources: Now hiring!
How’s that resume looking? And your intro letter? What about your abs? Because that’s really what it’s gonna take to get hired at some of Vegas’ hottest pools, most of which will be opening in mid-March. Well, that and a tolerance for sun, heat, loud music, drunkenness, debauchery, nudity …
The ultra pool at MGM Grand will open in March for its second season and is holding an open audition for model cocktail servers, model beverage runners, model VIP hosts, model door hosts, model barbacks, model cashiers and model bartenders* on Tuesday, February 3 and Wednesday, February 4 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at Tabu. You must wear swimwear and bring a headshot and resume. Callbacks on February 5 and 6.
Now hiring cocktail servers, lifeguards, cabana attendants, bartenders, barbacks, food runners and kiosk attendants for the Hard Rock Beach Club and Rehab Sundays. You must apply online at hardrockhotel.com prior to attending one of two live casting sessions on Saturday, February 7, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, February 8, noon-5 p.m. inside the Festival Hall. Come dressed in your best swimwear for he all-important audition photos.
The Mirage’s jewel box pool club will be hiring for all positions including bar hosts, apprentice bartenders, cabana hosts, pool guest attendants, runners and security guards on Wednesday, February 11 from noon-4 p.m. at Jet.
N9NE Group’s oasis is holding a casting for cocktail servers, bartenders, food runners and lifeguards on Wednesday, February 11, 1-5 p.m. at Rain.
Now hiring outgoing, personable, driven VIP hosts for the summer pool season. Restaurant and/or nightclub backgrounds and a large local network preferred. Submit photo and resume to beach@taolasvegas.com by Friday, February 13.
* A quick note on the use of the word “model.” In this context, model does not so much refer to an exemplary employee but rather to the manner in which clubs and casinos get around using whatever highest seniority union workers sign the bid sheets in casinos. By making it a bona fide occupational qualification (BFOQ) that pool or club staff be models—a very subjective title—the clubs have their pick of the hottest, buffest, bronzest beach bods. Of course, knowing which end of a bottle of beer is up helps too… It’s an industry standard—get used to it.
