Daydream, believe it: An exclusive first look at M’s party pool
M Resort's Daydream pool opens in early April with an eye toward keeping locals tanned and happy.

It felt like it took an eternity to arrive but it only took one moment for M Resort to become the talk of the town. Open just over a week, the sleek new resort at St. Rose and Las Vegas Boulevard has already made a name for itself as a locals favorite, what with the desirable price point (the most expensive entrée on property is just $48), the complimentary beverage stations throughout the casino, and the friendly design which allows guests to dine or hit the spa without setting foot on the casino floor. So it follows that the 21 and over, adults-only Daydream Pool should be the summer pool scene’s next big wave.
A collaboration between M’s Marnell Corrao Associates and operator Sean Christie of Las Vegas Nightlife Group (Blush, Society Café), Daydream pool club will soft open on April 2 and grand open April 9 with a definite eye towards satisfying Vegas’ ever-growing appetite for pool-side parties, all the while keeping locals—especially local ladies—happy.

Last summer’s easy-access trend brought us the poolside valets at Wet Republic and Rehab. This season, guests will arrive just a pool toy’s throw from Daydream’s environs via M’s west valet and self-parking lot, located just off the salon and spa complex. A quick sidestep from the entrance of M’s main pool, the Daydream pool enclave is a palm tree- and torch-studded adult paradise hidden from prying eyes by high walls. Though not a topless pool, the contemporary Italian design is plenty European, with a cream, travertine deck, teak wood accents, sable Italian tile and terra cotta soft furnishings.
Coming in at just over 12,000 feet, the sun-drenched plaza boasts an infinity edge pool, daybeds, and a hot tub VIP deck able to accommodate about 10 or more. For kicking back beyond the reach of the sun, 10 cabanas flank the pool lengthwise, stocked with all the de rigueur amenities including safes, TV, free Wi-Fi, ceiling fans, an iPod docking station, and a fridge stocked with water, soda and a bottle of champagne. All guests can partake in fresh fruit, cold towels, an extensive pool-side menu, and pool attendants will carry sunglass chamois for to eliminate unsightly lotion prints on lenses.
On the south deck, a covered bar boasts five wells and 60 feet of ice-railed counters, all the better for keeping fresh fruit concoctions chilled. Daydream will of course offer bottle service but also the now-popular pitcher service as well with frozen mojitos and guava daiquiris being particular specialties. There’s even a tongue-in-cheek tribute to golfer John Daley, which amounts to a liberally spiked Arnold Palmer.
Daydream’s operations will be carefully seen to by Christie and his team, creating what he calls “a happy blend” of musical vibes, with mellow giving way to high energy by late afternoon. The pool will be open Thursday through Monday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with a local industry party on Thursday. Local women can partake in the exclusive Dreamgirls card which affords all sorts of extra amenities like complimentary daybeds and dollars-off on pitchers. Says Christie, “[Daydream is] very local-friendly, but local woman-friendly especially.”
Location being everything, Christie did a little asking around and noticed that “70 percent of the women who work in our industry live in that area.” Beyond attracting the Southern Highlands, Green Valley and Seven Hills denizens, Daydream aims to lure price-sensitive locals to its shores by slashing the going price for pool-side partying. “We have a product that is comparable and/or better… than the majority of products on the Strip,” says Christie. On whether or not Christie thinks folks from the North will be willing to venture south for Daydream, “We’re definitely focusing on the people who live in the area but … if we create a must-see experience—which we expect to do—I could see it.” Not to mention, M is now the first speck of Vegas Los Angelinos will cast their eyes on when driving in from California. If Daydream delivers on its promise and M continues to enjoy its opening momentum, Christie rightfully opines, “You’ll have people that don’t necessarily even make it to the Strip!”
