Mixology Mondays—or MixMo, as it is affectionately called—officially launched on April 27 with guest-tender Sidebar’s Jerry Vargas visiting his old pal and former co-worker, Downtown Cocktail Room’s own George Austin. The two worked shoulder-to-shoulder from 8-11 p.m. creating hand-crafted cocktails with April’s featured spirit, Veev Açai Liqueur.
Local art handler JW Caldwell followed Vargas over from Sidebar, where he has been enjoying the bartender’s cocktails for over three years now. "I like a well-crafted drink,” says Caldwell, joining me in a Veeva Las Vegas. “If I’m gonna stay at home and drink whiskey, I’m gonna stay at home and drink whiskey! But these two guys [Austin and Vargas] turned me on to well-crafted cocktails." Most nights he won’t have the same drink twice.
Calendar
- MixMo - Milagro

Though Austin says he will skip May because of the Memorial Day Weekend festivities, the Mixology Mondays series will return on June 29 with sponsor Milagro Tequila making the freshest possible margarita. No, really! It’s so fresh, guests will get to pick the very lime whose juice will grace their margarita. Now that’s fresh! What’s next? Harvest your own Agave piña parties, I’d image…
