Quelle Capri-cious: Vegas welcomes Palazzo’s Azure Pool

We were wondering when the Palazzo would get in on the pool party craze, and the answer is NOW. Soft opening this past Friday, the Palazzo’s Azure pool—which boasts a one-story DuraTran ad frighteningly close to the Tao Beach kiosk at the self-park entrance to the Venetian—has a French Riviera style that hits all de rigueur marks for today’s Vegas-style adult pool.

From a chaise, daybed or cabana within the Côte d'Azur-inspired enclave, guests can partake in Azure’s frozen grapes, frozen towels, poolside massages courtesy of Canyon Ranch Spa and Evian water mists, pampered at every turn by so-called “amenity butlers and butlerettes.”

Lunch al fresco on Wolfgang Puck’s signature Smoked Salmon Pizza with Black Caviar or Maine Lobster Salad accompanied by Heirloom tomatoes and avocado and pair it with one of many available champagnes-by-the-glass.
In a style similar to the Pure Management Group-operated Venus Pool at Caesars Palace, the venue is tranquil most days except of course on the liquor-backed Absolut Vodka Saturdays, when the DJ turns up the heat with a Euro-beat soundtrack for the high-end fashion shows. Taking full advantage of the proximity to such finery as the Shoppes at the Palazzo have to offer, Azure will showcase apparel and accessories from the likes of Barneys New York, Diane von Furstenberg, Tory Burch and other luxury retailers twice throughout the day.
“Azure combines the sophistication of the Côte d'Azur, the heat of Las Vegas and the magnificence of The Palazzo into one amazing space,” said Rob Goldstein, president and COO of The Palazzo and The Venetian. Though obviously not Italian, Azure’s French Riviera inspiration is close enough to the Italian border that we’ll happily suspend disbelief for a nice bunch of those frozen grapes and an Evian hose-down.
