DJ Reza spins at Fabulous

It was fantastic. It was fun. It was, in a word, Fabulous. Bringing one hell of a dance party to the Palms for four days, Vegas’ second Fabulous Fest was everything a club kid could ask for. A week later, the nightlife industry has finally recovered. Maybe.

The electronic music festival spanning Labor Day Weekend at the Palms barely resembled its 2008 incarnation, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The first Fabulous catered to the 18 and up crowds at the Orleans Arena as a post-Halloween bash on November 1, complete with costumed attendees. Though 2008’s party wasn’t packed to the brim (possibly because everyone was partied out from Halloween shenanigans the night prior), the overall vibe and fans in attendance resembled an out-of-state massive event. Rightly so, since Amsterdam-based Art of Dance was party responsible for bringing the event to Vegas.
This year, Art of Dance’s partnership with the Palms, N9NE Group and Go Ventures found Fabulous a proper home in a 21-and-up club-centric city. With the success of Love Festival over Memorial Day Weekend, holding the festival at the Palms seemed like a natural fit.
Of course, the focus of Fabulous—no matter the location—is the music. This year’s fest was just as successful in booking a roster of some of the most prolific talents in electronic music – people like Steve Aoki, Miguel Migs, Carl Cox, Markus Schulz, Steve Angelo and Felix da Housecat. Did you miss out on the action? We’ve got the photos and video to fill you in. Fabulously.
