It’s in the bag: Agassi Grand Slam serves swag for celebs
Mmmm. Swag is tasty. Karma Tequila served up cocktails to the celebs at the annual Andre Agassi Foundation Grand Slam for Children.
Celebs regularly make out like bandits at public appearances, benefits and awards shows, stealing away with hulking bags of swag. This past weekend’s 14th annual Andre Agassi Foundation Grand Slam for Children was no exception. The hulking bag in question resembled a professional baseball player’s gear bag and could have entirely concealed the petite woman who wielded it for me as I made my way through the high-end and very eco-conscious vendors. And it wasn’t all iPods and designer-wear; the swag array and gifting lounge featured everything a star needs to shine…
In the bag:
-Smart Heat Gold ‘N Hot Elite type-specific flat iron and blow-dryer. It even works on synthetic hair extensions and wigs. Daughtry band member Brian Craddock snapped up a flat iron for himself. A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do.
-Run Happy Tees with positive statements for fitness-minded moms and women. Made from Alternative Apparel tees (Atlanta’s answer to American Apparel), the “Run like a mother” tee was a particular favorite. Macy Gray especially loved the “Running Groovy” tee, which features a likeness eerily similar to her own. runhappytees.com
-Jack LaLanne’s newer, smaller Power Juicer. The Daughtry boys aren’t only worried about their hair. The band will be taking healthy on the road, as band members said the petite juicer will be joining them on their tour bus. powerjuicer.com
-Bluetooth headset from Novero. Simply referred to as The First One, the chic, lily-white and chrome earpiece comes with more lifestyle accessories than the Real Housewives of Orange County, including a desk sock, car cradle, car charger, wall charger, brooch clip and necklace. Law & Order’s Elizabeth Rohm grabbed one for herself and her husband. novero.com
-Wooloot skateboard-inspired watches. The lightweight, flexible, waterproof jelly watches are perfect for working out and look great in multiples. Macy Gray opted for red and purple, young chanteuse Charice Pempengco paired blue and green. woolootsport.com
-Daisy Couture handmade, eco-friendly collars. Even celebrity pets cash in on swag fests. The classy collars came with clutch-style “purses” to hold a key for jogging or money for a Starbuck’s run. The soft, tiny Velcro “wallets” also silence jingling dog tags. Comedienne Rita Rudner selected a collar and wallet for her Chinese Powder Puff Crested “Twinkle.” daisycouturecollars.com
-Oxygenetix cover up. Oxygenetix founder/formulator Barry Knapp was on hand to personally color match celebs into his newest makeup line, which not only covers up recent cosmetic procedures such as chemical peels and surgery, but also encourages and accelerates healing time. Law & Order’s Elizabeth Rohm suffers from rosacea and is a big fan of the physician-only formula makeup. oxygenetix.com
-Karma Tequila. Every swag shopper can use a shot of something tasty. Karma Tequila co-founders Devin Semler and Gary Eisenberger were on hand to personally taste celebs on their Jalisco highland-style blanco. The double- and triple-distilled tequila is smooth, and performed well in the fruity Karma Sutra cocktail as well as the lively Karma and Tonic. karmatequila.com
-At the PR Plus gifting station, celebrities were loaded up with a Best in Las Vegas package which included a VIP tour of Dirk Authur’s in-home tiger habitat; dinner for four at Hash House A-Go-Go; dinner at BB Kings (opening in October at the Mirage); tickets to see Donny & Marie; tickets to George Wallace and much, much more.
-Included in every massive gift bag were two pair of EcoLiving Essentials biodegradable travel booties, eco-friendly Old School Brand laundry soap (oldschoolbrandla.blogspot.com); Mikana pure soy, smoke-free candles (makanacandlestudios.com); SUDZZfx hair care products (which Chris Daughty autographed for the pure irony of the situation); and $300 in Vata truly one-size-fits-all workout wear (vatabrasil.com).
-The Distinctive Assets gifting suite’s Lash Fary presented celebrity guests with a set or two of his SlimWare portion-conscious dining ware. Created for, as Fary says, “just-right eating,” the plates subtly suggest the recommended portion sizes for lean protein, vegetables and carbs. A good way for celebs to keep waistlines in check, the plates were a big hit with Chef Emeril Lagasse and Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antin. slimware.com
-But the greatest gift of all didn’t fit in the swag bag. Famous folks were offered an all-inclusive fitness vacation courtesy of Live in Fitness. The week-long stay in Marina Del Rey is valued at $6,350 and also features 30 days of custom meal delivery. Now, that’s living the good life. liveinfitnessenterprise.com
