“I feel as though I’ve been studying for this job all my life and didn’t even know I was putting in an application until one day I just woke up and I had the job.”
DJ Jordan Stevens has made impressive progress within the Las Vegas electronic dance music scene—not an easy task in one of the most popular nightlife destinations worldwide.
Honing his skills in the underground party scene, Stevens has progressed from raves to afterhours to now holding a coveted residency with N9NE Group at The Palms. In the process, he’s garnered a loyal and supportive following and regularly earns billing at gigs alongside the biggest names in electronic music, including Paul Oakenfold, Above & Beyond and Paul van Dyk. Subsequently, Stevens was named Best Rising Star DJ by the Las Vegas Weekly in 2009.
Before his blowout birthday bash on January 24 with headliner Christopher Lawrence and Stevens’ former DJ duo partner, Kevin Shawn from L.A., Stevens joinedWeekly reporter Deanna Rilling in studio to chat about coming up in a challenging scene, his favorite producers of the moment, and … llamas? Yes, llamas.
