As first announced on lasvegasweekly.com, expert turntabilist and self-proclaimed “hardcore scratch nerd” Qbert begins his Vegas residency June 23 at Crown nightclub. Dubbed “The Movement,” the Wednesday night party celebrating Asian-American culture will feature Qbert, one of America’s Best DJs, twice a month.

But before Qbert arrives in Vegas with vinyl records in tow (yup — real, actual, vinyl), the Weekly caught up with the DJ while he was grocery shopping in his hometown of San Francisco to chat about the b-boy and b-girl culture, going “balls out" in his sets, yo-yos, his Scratch University and DJ Hero 2, inspiring others via Twitter, plus his solution if he needs to use the facilities while spinning.
