Dear Vampire Weekend: apology accepted

Stereotypical rock star behavior includes destroying hotel rooms and smashing guitars, not apologizing to the crowd. When Vampire Weekend played at The Joint last night, they spent most of their time in between songs addressing their lack of material and promising that they’ll be bringing more the next time they visit Vegas. The fledgling band currently only has their self-titled album to draw from, but that didn’t stop them from introducing a few new tunes to the crowd, who eagerly ... Read more...

Shinedown takes over the spotlight at HOB

I remember being a little confused when I heard that a band called Shinedown was opening for Godsmack at the Hard Rock’s Summer Stage in 2006. Godsmack were touring with Rob Zombie and their latest single at the time was called “Shinedown.” I figured the opener of the same name was some effort at promoting their new tune. It turned out that the opening band was an entity in its own right with a loyal following of alt metal fans ... Read more...
