Shinedown takes over the spotlight at HOB
By Allison Duck
Florida-based band Shinedown like crows and high contrast images.
I remember being a little confused when I heard that a band called Shinedown was opening for Godsmack at the Hard Rock’s Summer Stage in 2006. Godsmack were touring with Rob Zombie and their latest single at the time was called “Shinedown.” I figured the opener of the same name was some effort at promoting their new tune. It turned out that the opening band was an entity in its own right with a loyal following of alt metal fans that had turned out for the show.

Two years later Shinedown is headlining its own tour and making a stop at the House of Blues this Sunday, September 7. The band, known for its intense touring schedule and personal live shows, will be playing new material like “Devour” off of their recent release, The Sound of Madness, in addition to hit singles from the past. Shinedown has also recorded several DVDs of live concert footage, and a night in Vegas would seem an appropriate show to shoot, so come camera ready. If you would like an opportunity to meet Shinedown and get to know the men behind the music, enter above to win a pair of passes for an intimate meet and greet with the band before this weekend’s show.
