What might have been
Walking from the Country Saloon to Beauty Bar and passing one never-opened venue (The Hive, complete with fading “coming soon” advertisements covering its windows) and one recently shuttered venue (Jillian’s) on the way, I couldn’t help but dream about how user-friendly Neon Reverb might be had those four East Fremont sites—located within a block of one another—served as this year’s musical hub.
Club Aruba and the Bunkhouse are neat places to see a show, but getting in the car to drive from one set to the next (I know, walking from Beauty Bar to Bunkhouse is possible, but does anyone really like doing it?) saps the “festival” feel somewhat.
