Killer booking: Flowers takes root at Shimmer Cabaret for solo performance

Brandon Flowers' upcoming solo album is titled "Flamingo."
But he's opening a brief club tour at "Hilton."
In one of the more fascinating bookings ever in Las Vegas, Flowers is scheduled to play the Las Vegas Hilton's Shimmer Cabaret on Aug. 15. Don't bother trying to get tickets to the concert in the 375-seat showroom/lounge hybrid. They went on sale at 10 a.m. Friday and sold out about as fast as 375 tickets can be sold.
Flamingo is set to be released in September. The first solo, titled "Crossfire," is set for an Aug. 23 release.
Flowers is playing small halls on each stop of this brief solo tour. He is also playing the Troubadour in Los Angeles on Aug. 17, Slims in San Francisco on Aug. 19, Park West in Chicago on Aug. 23 and the Highline Ballroom in New York on Aug. 26.
