Free cupcakes!!!
Sweet deliciousness: Free cupcakes just taste better.
Photo: Tiffany Brown
Anyone fancy a free cupcake? Specifically, an award-winning cupcake made from moist red velvet cake smothered in cream cheese frosting? Of course you do. Cupcakes are like crack, only less illegal.
The Cupcakery will be passing out the good stuff for free today from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in honor of National Cupcake Day. (What’s next, Brulee Appreciation Month?)

As you wait in line for your Southern Belle cupcake, described above, or the signature Tickle Me Pink classic white cake topped with pink butter cream frosting, you may find yourself salivating alongside folks like Celine Dion, Toni Braxton, Britney Spears, Pete Wentz, Quentin Tarantino, Vince Neil, Chris Webber or George Maloof. All are big fans of The Cupcakery’s confections.
For various reasons, celebrities love cupcakes. Hollywood has Sprinkles, frequented by Katie Holmes, and Manhattan has Magnolia Bakery, made famous by Sex and the City. Cupcakes make a trendy, cute, edible accessory for celebs craving sugar.
When in Vegas they tend to hit The Cupcakery, which has already appeared in Us Weekly for providing a rainbow-hued tier of cupcakes for Fergie and Quentin Tarantino’s joint Vegas birthday party.
But today is all about giving regular cupcake lovers a free treat, and today isn’t the only holiday you can celebrate by stuffing your face. A quick Google search revealed that December 15th is actually National Lemon Cupcake Day. The day after is National Chocolate Covered Anything Day (Really? Anything?), followed by National Roast Suckling Pig Day and National French Fried Shrimp Day.
Now, where I can find that 365 days of little-known food holidays calendar?
