Aubrey O’Day takes a Peep

While Peepshow is hardly an educational production, the revue has showed what a Spice Girl can do, and what a Broadway star can do, too – but can a Playboy bunny do it better?

Aubrey O’Day hopes so.

Audiences will soon see if the 25-year-old blonde has what it takes to perform at the same level as past and present Peepshow stars Melanie Brown and Shoshana Bean.

The former Danity Kane diva is set to assume the role of “Peep Diva” in the sexy Planet Hollywood production this fall.

“Aubrey is one of the sexiest entertainers in the industry today and we are thrilled to welcome her to the Peepshow cast,” BASE Entertainment co-CEO Scott Zeiger said in a statement.

Meanwhile, it was announced that the show’s current “Bo Peep,” Holly Madison, has agreed to remain in the role for a while longer and has extended her contract for an additional three months.

Unlike Madison, Bean will step aside at the end of her original three-month agreement and hand over the “Peep Diva” reins to O’Day on Sept. 14.

The incoming and outgoing “Peep Divas” have both spent time on Broadway as part of the Hairspray cast. Another Hairspray connection: Peepshow was created by the award-winning musical’s Tony Award-winning choreographer Jerry Mitchell.

The imminent addition of O’Day means both of the lead roles in Peepshow will soon be held by former Playboy models: O’Day graced the cover of Playboy this past March and Madison has appeared in the magazine several times.

Kelly Monaco, who played “Bo Peep” prior to Madison joining the cast last month, has also posed for the pinup magazine.
