Screw the diet: it’s National Eat What You Want Day!

I’m not so wild about Hallmark holidays, created solely for the purpose of selling cheesy greeting cards celebrating The Sweetest Day or Middle Child Born in September Day. But give me gratuitous food holidays and I’m all ears, er, stomach. ENVY, the steakhouse at the Renaissance Hotel is celebrating National Eat What You Want Day in a big way.
On May 11, leave the Weight Watchers point counter at home and wear your stretchy pants. In honor of Eat What You Want Day, ENVY is encouraging diners to have desert first, featuring a special dessert tasting menu with wine pairings. For $35, you can dine on crème custard paired with Jackson Trigg Ice “Vidal” Ice Wine or a meyer lemon mousse with fresh berries paired with a 2003 Kracher Cuvee Beerenauslese. Keep the calorie fest going with a chocolate s’more cake paired with Dashe Late Harvest Zinfandel, and finish things off with pineapple and ginger upside down cake paired with Chateau Les Justise.
This amazing sugar rush won’t be a one day deal-ENVY will have it available throughout the summer for those who want to skip to the good stuff and enjoy a fabulous desert medley in lieu of the meat and potatoes.
