How to survive Black Friday (without getting a black eye)

Call me un-American, but Thanksgiving is overrated. Full turkeys take forever to cook, make you tired and are easily replaceable by Capriotti’s Bobbie sandwich, which is available year-round. I hate cranberry sauce, the consistency of most stuffing creeps me out, and don’t get me started on the word “cornucopia.” But, my God, do I love shopping. For me, and millions of other shopaholics, the best part about this holiday week is the day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday. Known for offering ... Read more...

Guide to Black Friday

If you’re one of those doorbusters who just has to be first in line at the mall on Black Friday, take a look at this list of store opening times. The local outlets and those in Primm are opening at midnight, that’s right, 12 a.m. When many in Las Vegas are still out hitting the clubs dancing off the turkey and stuffing pounds, dedicated shoppers can get an early start on their holiday shopping. A very early start. If you’re ... Read more...

The main card will feature a rematch between light heavyweights Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin. Josh Koscheck will also be taking on Anthony Johnson and The Ultimate Fighter winner Amir Sadollah will take on Phil Baroni. If you don’t yet know who you’re going to cheer ... Read more...

Mad-Maddy’s StompFest

Holly Madison isn’t afraid to get her feet wet. The Peepshow starlet drenched her feet, calves and knees yesterday during an event celebrating Beaujolais Nouveau at Paris. The photo op was orchestrated to kick off the annual Georges DuBoeuf Beaujolais Nouveau festival, which continues at Paris through Sunday. Ever the good sport, Madison donned a kitchy dress for the event and sloshed around in a vat of colored water and grapes. “I had a really cute outfit they made me, ... Read more...

Are you Tuff-N-Uff to be a ring girl?

Screw dodging punches and kicks inside the ring, Mixed Martial Arts ring girls have to dodge ringside photographers, videographers and hoots and hollers from the crowd. All while smiling and looking pretty in heels and a skimpy outfit. Alright, so it doesn’t sound that hard. But face it, not just anyone can confidently strut around a ring and not crack under the pressures of excited, and occasionally obnoxious, fight fans. MMA ring girls are quickly becoming as well-known as some ... Read more...

The weakest Weekly birthday

Break out the paper plates and party hats. It’s time for a belated birthday party for yours truly! Not me, I was obviously born in April; I’m talking about the Weekly, of course. According to a completely reliable source (by that we mean our MySpace profile) yesterday was our birthday. The social networking site now has us listed as 25 years old, which would definitely help the car insurance on our ‘85 Geo Metro. Of course, most people know we’re ... Read more...

Lessons from Green Valley’s “Laramie Project”

Drama and lawsuits are just the things to make high school theater more exciting, and both erupted over Green Valley High School’s undertaking of The Laramie Project, which played last Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Other than its basic retelling of the Matthew Shepard story and that my 17-year-old brother was playing one of Shepard’s murderers, I didn’t know what to expect from Laramie. As far as the legal action surrounding the production, I assumed that people were overreacting. Despite it ... Read more...

Win tickets to see Bill Cosby live

Everyone knows Bill Cosby. He’s the actor, author, musician, TV producer and veteran comedian that you wish lived next door. Getting into the swing of things

After about five minutes, it’s difficult to distinguish who arrived with whom. I’m pretty sure the striking brunette wearing thigh-high leggings arrived with the man wearing the silver button-up; but she’s riding the Sybian while she services a man in a white polo and has her breasts fondled by a blonde woman. Silver-shirt guy is across the small hotel room, sharing a tattooed brunette woman with another man. Two decades of vanilla indoctrination are struggling to make sense of the ... Read more...

What’s in the bag? Latin Grammy celebs score swag

Lash Fary knows what the celebs want…need…crave—even before they do. And he gives it to them. For free. Fary’s niche celebrity product placement company Distinctive Assets elevates celeb swag from mere baubles and trinkets to a cavalcade of earth-friendly, socially responsible, health conscious products while maintaining the level of luxury the stars have become accustomed to. Celebs at the 10th annual Latin Grammy Awards had three days and three chances to visit Fary’s suite and make off with a signature ... Read more...

Three non-porn notes from Adultcon 2009

Walking into an adult industry fair like Adultcon, it’s safe to assume a few things. For instance, you know you will see plenty of asses, many in fishnets and hanging out of barely-there three-inch skirts. Everything will be accentuated by heels great for having sex in but not so great for walking. Hordes of pornophiles will bump into you in a frenzy to take photos of and with their favorite adult entertainers. Plenty of sexed up merchandise, such as an ... Read more...

Virgins sacrificed biweekly at Onyx Theater’s Rocky Horror Picture Show

My Magenta costume looked almost too good, I realized, when I arrived at the Onyx Theater’s Halloween edition of the Rocky Horror Picture Show live cast event. Only a few scattered couples came dressed in their Rocky-wear: a few Time Warpers, a Brad (“Asshole!”), a bathrobed Brad (“Asshole!”) and Janet (“Slut!”) and a whole lot of completely unrelated Halloween costumes.  Those who’ve never been to a live cast performance of the cult classic midnight movie—in which live, costumed actors eek ...
