Oh, how good it is to be a local in Las Vegas. Not only do we know the back roads to all the local hotspots, once we arrive, we are showered with specials that make out-of-towners wish they hailed from the Silver State. You deserve it, of course. You put up with summers that are ungodly hot and drunken tourists constantly trying to have the night of their life all over your city. It ain’t always easy living in Las Vegas, but it should be easy living it up for less than what that conventioneer from Iowa is paying. But before you can cash in on the bevy of benefits available to locals, you have to know that they exist. As they say, knowing is half the battle…
Beginning October 5, local ladies can enjoy Belvedere Vodka cocktails or Moet & Chandon Champagne for $2 during Pink Sugar Mondays at Rhumbar. The weekly outdoor party held on the patio, runs from 5-8 p.m. during the fall. The Mirage hotspot will also donate $2 from signature Pink Sugar cocktails to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
If tequila is more your taste, consider heading to Tacos & Tequila, where appetizers are half-priced all day, every day for anyone with valid Nevada identification. Rare 120 inside the Hard Rock Casino also offers food specials for locals. During the restaurant’s industry night, Rare Occasions on Tuesdays, locals receive 25 percent off their bill.
The deals don’t stop there. MGM/Mirage properties are offering a slew of perks for Nevadans. A full list of deals is available at MGMMirage.com/locals, including 20 percent off meals at Company Kitchen and Pub House inside the Luxor and 50 percent off wine, Cognac and Armagnac for locals at Andre’s.
Don’t despair if drinking and dining aren’t your thing. Plenty of specials are available for concerts and shows in Sin City. MGM/Mirage also offers various show details, such as 2-for-1 specials for Louie Anderson and Thunder from Down Under, both at Excalibur.
A short drive away, in Primm, locals can purchase 2-for-1 tickets to all concerts and sporting events until the end of the year. With a fall line-up including Kenny Rogers, Stone Temple Pilots, Muay Thai, Boys II Men, Foreigner and Bret Michaels, there’s plenty of entertainment to go around.
What are you waiting for, locals? The deals are there. Go out and get ‘em.
