Trick or Tweet: Caesars offers Halloween treats for guests

By April Corbin

Diehard trick-or-treaters know: If your neighborhood only dishes out candy corn, you convince mommy to drive you to the nice neighborhoods where they give out full-sized candy bars and enough Smarties to make your dentist cringe. With that in mind, those seeking treats this Halloween may want to consider hitting up a slightly different neighborhood, Caesars Palace.

The resort is offering a Trick or Tweet special for the weekend of October 30 and 31. Caesars Palace Twitter followers and Facebook fans can use a special promotional code to purchase a two-night stay at the resort. The package includes passes to Qua Baths Spa, in-room Internet access, one in-room movie, VIP passes to Pure nightclub and a $50 credit at the property. Prices for the Trick or Treat package begin at $175 per night, and everyone who purchases the package will be automatically entered in a raffle to win a free upgrade to the resort’s VIP suites.

The interactive promotion includes far more than a raffle, however. Throughout the weekend, @CaesarsPalace will tweet messages announcing giveaways and food and drink specials, many sponsored by Bacardi USA. Resort representatives won’t announce which restaurants are participating in Trick or Tweet, but with delicious spots like Rao’s and Serendipity 3 on the property, the offerings could be promising.

Caesars Palace boasts more than 25,000 Twitter followers and Facebook fans, and participants will have the chance to tweet-up with some of those social network fans during the weekend’s festivities.

The resort says costumes are encouraged but not required. We might suggest avoiding togas or anything Roman-themed. You might feel as if you’re fitting in at first, but after the third tourist stops you and asks where the craps tables are, you’ll find yourself rethinking that Brutus costume.

No word on whether singing or rhyming is allowed, but if so, may have one final suggestion: Trick or treat, I checked my tweets. Now, give me something free to eat!
