Born in Seattle, Washington, The Funky Cold Medema, Jayson Medema, moved to Las Vegas in the summer of 1998. He enrolled in classes at UNLV where he studied biology and fine art. As a student attending parties and frequenting nightclubs, Medema began to turn his attention to the DJ and the music. Casual observation led to the purchase of equipment, and equipment led to hours and years of diligent practice, playing at home and at hundreds of college parties. In Las Vegas, Medema has had the opportunity to see some of the finest DJ's in the world on a weekly basis. Seeing them work crowds and observing their techniques gave has given him a platform to aim for and encouraged him to continue honing his turntable skills. Years later, many mixers and a couple of turntables worn through, people can see, feel and move to what Moxie delivers. Also an artist off the tables, Medema works as muralist and has had artwork featured in Spike TV’s The Ultimate Fighter.
