You think you know dubstep, but you likely don’t. The electronic subgenre first blossomed in the U.K. before it invaded the U.S., and for some diehard bassheads, the English version is more nuanced and evocative, less gimmicky—and just outright superior. We’ll get a rare DJ set chock full of it when one of U.K. dubstep’s pioneers, Coki, pays Fremont East a visit this week. August 20, doors at 9:30 p.m., $10.
