A show down on the Strip

Sweaty palms, dry mouth, ears strained, giddy anticipation building, waiting for him to utter those three little words. And then I hear them: “Jessica, COME ON DOWN!” Crap! I’m not Jessica. But the girl next to me is, and she runs down to contestants’ row tripping with excitement.

Even though I was never picked, The Price is Right Live, the Vegas stage version of the famed TV show, unexpectedly swept me right up in all the screaming, shouting and flailing arms. All the famed games that I had watched repeatedly on my ditch and unemployment days were there, including Plinko, the Big Wheel and even the Showcase Showdown, which tempted with prizes like a trip to Mexico and cold hard cash. Next time …
