The Latin nightclub Nicole “ND” Durr spawned in the former Club Rio space has dropped the Fuego from its name, and shed three days of Latin music, to become simply ND’s The Club. When it first opened on February 12, ND’s Fuego was, according to the woman herself, “the first upscale Latin nightclub in Vegas.” But it would seem that after going up against more established, off-Strip mid-scale Latin clubs such as 2100 and the Mayan on Sunday nights—those that offer $5 or $10 admission and buckets of beers for about the same—ND’s Fuego quickly replaced Sundays with Beautiful Wednesdays. Shortly thereafter, ND’s reps surgically removed the Fuego from The Club, with the exception of Thursdays and some Latin tunes mixed in on the other nights. With a decade of successful Latin Thursdays under its belt already as Club Rio, Vegas’ first in-casino nightclub seems to have an imprinted memory of what has historically worked best there. Spooky …
