If you’re a funny person, listen up. The opportunity to perform on a Las Vegas stage is (knock) knocking.
The Improv at Harrah’s Las Vegas is looking for the next funniest person in the country. (Hopefully, he or she has better puns than we do.) The contest, being held in conjunction with the DVD release of Funny People, will result in one aspiring comedian scoring a big break: a six-night run at the Improv at Harrah’s sometime next year.
To enter, participants must upload a video at least one minute long of their best original material to ijoke.com. Five finalists will be selected by a panel, which will consist of industry professionals and Improv founder Budd Friedman. The videos for the finalists will be displayed on ijoke.com between December 14 and midnight on December 20, and viewers will be asked to rate the videos. The three highest ranked entrants will then be flown to Las Vegas to compete in person on stage at the Improv in front of the judging panel and a live audience. (If you’re from Vegas, maybe you can convince them to give you a staycation at Harrah’s.)
The deadline to submit your video is tomorrow, December 8, before midnight (PT). So, get those jokes cracking quickly. We look forward to heckling you in 2010.
