Tiny little rant on boring John Ensign

John Ensign’s pop culture moment has finally arrived—he was the subject of a skit on last weekend’s Saturday Night Live, joining a mock John Edwards and Mark Sanford in a press conference to discuss his frustration with how the media has all but forgotten his indiscretions and is now focusing on Tiger Woods’ affairs. That’s the good news. The bad news is, it’s apparently impossible to make John Ensign funny. His gaping lack of a personality, both in public and in the media, was immediately apparent, as the SNL cast member saddled with the job of portraying Ensign had no idea how to play him. We don’t mind him being mocked, but when it’s boring, well, that’s unforgivable.
