Suggestion box: No more fodder for GOP

At a time when the country can ill-afford pet projects, Reid, with a straight face no less, is claiming that the $8 billion in the stimulus package for high-speed-rail grants is not specifically earmarked for an Anaheim-to-Las Vegas line. Reid claims the money will be available on a competitive basis, and that it is not pork barrel. Now, we’re all for projects that are going to help the economy and environment long-term, but Reid needs to shoot straight and stop giving the GOP yet more cannon fodder.
