Do your Girl Thing

Political feminism? The elegantly feminine? Back-stabbing mean-girl themes? Who knows. A dozen local artists are taking on the challenge interpreting “It’s a Girl Thing” in a new exhibit at Reed Whipple Cultural Center. “It can be cultural, abstract—it remains to be seen,” says Jeanne Voltura of the Las Vegas Cultural Affairs office. “It sounds like it would be feminist, but it’s not necessarily so.” In any case, it promises to be interesting in a city where “girl thing” is so vastly understood, or misunderstood, depending on your take.
