We never expected to see Leonard Cohen here, and we’re afraid we still might not. Promising Vegas rock shows have a sad history of getting canceled due to poor advance ticket sales (see: Pixies ’04, Jesus and Mary Chain ’07, this summer’s Dylan/Mellencamp/Willie tour), so excuse us for not firing up our Leonard listening marathon in preparation for November 12 just yet. Especially considering we’re talking about a Thursday night at the 4,300-seat Caesars Colosseum—a little tougher to sell out than a Saturday night at HOB.

So if you like Cohen’s dark brand of folk even a little (hell, if you’ve ever seen Shrek, which has a cover of one of his songs, “Hallelujah,” in it), we’re asking you—begging, really—not to procrastinate. Tickets go on sale Monday, August 3, at 10 a.m., at 800-745-3000, through ticketmaster.com and at Caesars’ box office—snag some extras for your friends while you’re at it. Sure, $68 for cheap seats ain’t so cheap, but the dude turns 75 in September. That’s less than $1 per year of life experience.
