Tiny Little Rant: Taxes are worse than death

Tiny Rant Image

Death and taxes—which is worse? At least death offers a certain finality; when it’s over, it’s over. Taxes involve endless paperwork and jawboning by politicians. So we have the dispiriting spectacle of Clark County officials tabulating how much of our taxes the cow counties are getting; meanwhile, others are nitpicking the North/South division of Nevada’s stimulus-packaged road dollars. (It turns out the North is getting more than we are! Bastards!) Idea: Let’s cultivate a deathlike finality about our tax dollars: Once we pay them, they’re dead to us. Imagine how much more relaxing life would be.
