Fine Art
Walk. Look. Learn, dammit!
Thu, May 14, 2009 (midnight)
Hard up for entertainment but soft in the pocketbook? Maybe it’s time to get some fresh air and feed your head at the same time. We recommend a hearty dose of outdoor art at the Village Arts Festival at Lake Las Vegas.
Calendar
- Village Arts Festival at Lake Las Vegas
- May 16 and 17, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., free.
- Lake Las Vegas
It’s sponsored by the Village and the Boulder City Art Guild (if you attended last month’s Boulder City Fine Arts Festival, you know how cool this is going to be), and will feature the works of more than 50 artists from across the country—all for purchase at various price points. And as a nice added bonus, Saturday coincides with the Village’s monthly Vino di Lago event, where, for $25, patrons can sample wines from all over the country at more than 20 stations at various shops and restaurants from 7 to 10 p.m. Combine that with the cost of the arts festival (uh, it’s free), and you’re more than getting your money’s worth. That’s got to count for something nowadays.
