… Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie began the show wearing boxes on their heads and mini-disco balls on their crotches—for lighting purposes only, of course.

… the comedic folk duo best known for its self-titled HBO series sang about racist dragons, bus drivers, large hip-hopping mammals and David Bowie’s nipples. Pure lyrical genius.

… comic opener Arj Barker guest-rapped on “Too Many Dicks on the Dance Floor.”

… the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra* accompanied FOTC.

*The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra is currently composed of a cellist, Nigel, and, uh, that’s it. Nigel played excellently.

… multiple pairs of men’s tighty-whiteys were thrown onstage. Strangely, no bras or women’s undergarments were tossed.
