When I think surf rock, I think Black Sabbath. Not really, but if anyone can pull it off, it’s local surf rock favorites Thee Swank Bastards. Longtime mainstays at the Double Down, the Bastards will be celebrating the release of their brand new double-CD—one disc of original surf tunes and the other a collection of Black Sabbath covers.

Thee Swank Bastards have invited some of the bigger names in local surf rock to share the stage with them, including Apollo 14, Monster Zero, Experiment Zero and Ghostriders in Disguise. Still, expect a lengthy set from the headliners. “We’ll play until at least three o’clock,” says TSB guitarist Jesse Del Quadro. Can’t wait to see how they merge “Wipe Out” with “War Pigs.”
