Suggestion Box: Hey RJ, tell us something we don’t know

It doesn’t happen often, but a recent column by the R-J’s Jane Ann Morrison really caught our eye. In it, she cast a glaring spotlight on the real scourge of Las Vegas: the tourist. She proclaimed that spiraling room rates are drawing a “trashier” clientele, one that—gasp!—brings coolers into rooms and apparently causes—double gasp!—room damage. Never mind that this type of tourist has been coming here since, oh, forever—something must be done! But that’s where Jane Ann drops the ball; she doesn’t offer any solutions. Luckily, we do: financial profiling. John Deere cap? Out! Wife-beater shirt? Out! Teeth missing? Out! Gun rack? Out! Sure, it might kill this town off once and for all, but you’re not suggesting we let people think Vegas is open to everyone, are you?
