Old Dog days

Image

In Old Dogs, opening this week, Robin Williams and John Travolta play a pair of aging marketing executives suddenly saddled with taking care of 7-year-old twins, while trying to put together the biggest business deal of their careers. Painful attempts at hilarity ensue. We wondered, what other over-the-hill movie stars could find themselves in similarly strained situations?

• In Cold Dogs, Bruce Willis and Mel Gibson are the co-owners of a ski resort who find themselves babysitting the precocious kids of their wealthiest guests—who won’t trust anyone else to watch the entitled (but lovable) little brats.

• In Old Cats, Meryl Streep and Sally Field are co-hosts of a cooking show forced to learn how to make real family meals when faced with watching three 7-year-old girls.

• In Older Dogs, Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson are a pair of retirees suddenly put in charge of caring for two 7-year-olds with developmental disorders that make them look like middle-aged men, played by Robin Williams and John Travolta.
