As We See It
Suggestion Box: Moulin Rouge
Tue, Oct 13, 2009 (6:04 p.m.)
Oscar Goodman wants to tear down the “historic” Moulin Rouge, which was nearly destroyed by fire a few months ago. What a horrible idea. Now, don’t get us wrong—we’re true Las Vegans, and believe that nothing should last very long in this town. (That would give us something resembling an actual identity, and who the hell wants that?) But let’s face facts: No one’s building anything here anymore. We need to start taking advantage of the space we still have, regardless of whether it has a purpose—or a roof. Therefore, we suggest one of the following: 1.) A kick-ass homeless shelter. Now Goodman won’t have to chase them out of town; 2.) An even more kick-ass paintball park. Can you imagine hunting someone in an old casino? Cha-ching!
