Bringing in Bandits

One great way to discover new music is to let a band crash on your apartment floor. That’s exactly what happened in 1999, after I saw RX Bandits for the first time at Balcony Lights. I was there to check out a friend’s band and stuck around for the headliners’ set, after which they asked the crowd for a place to stay for the evening.
The Details
- RX Bandits
- September 22, 7 p.m., $12-$14
- House of Blues Courtyard, 632-7600
Ten years later, RXB have made numerous trips back to Vegas and crashed on my floor many a time ... maybe because I always have clean towels. Despite traveling the world and amassing a sizeable fanbase while creating an impressive catalog of music, they’ve always remained down to earth. They’ve transformed from a Seal Beach, California, ska band into skilled songwriters who’ve established a unique, heartfelt sound. See you on Tuesday, Matt, Chris, Steve and Joe. If ya need a place to stay, you have my number.
