If you ever wondered what it might be like to sit in an auditorium and have live musicians envelop you with sound—not over-mic’d, throbbing reverb, but pure music produced by unamplified instruments—here’s your chance. As a way to introduce new and young audiences to the full orchestra experience, the Las Vegas Philharmonic kicks off its Pops Series with A Night at the Movies, featuring selections from Pirates of the Caribbean, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Schindler’s List and Harry Potter and James Bond films. Throughout the concert, conductor David Itkin will also host an onstage movie-trivia challenge. Film buffs are encouraged to come early to sign up.
