Being famished on Friday or starving on Saturday is pretty unsettling, but nothing is worse than being thirsty on Thursday. Luckily, such quenches can be filled — once a month, anyway — with Thirsty Thursdays Pub Crawl.
The bar-hopping adventure happens every third Thursday of the month and unites six Downtown staples: Beauty Bar, Hennessey’s, Las Vegas Country Saloon, Mickie Finnz, Hogs & Heifers, and Sidebar.
One Jackson — that’s the old dude on the $20 bill, all you people who stopped carrying cash in lieu of plastic — gets you one drink at each participating bar, plus half-priced appetizers at Mickie Finnz and a half-price entrée at Hennessey’s. Not a bad deal. Actually, it is loads better than the Lean Pockets you normally eat on weeknights.
More
Crawlers are encouraged to arrive at Hennessey’s at 7 p.m. to utilize those meal tickets. Then, around 7:45 or 8 p.m., after bellies are filled and prepared to handle booze, the actual bar hopping begins and a night of bull-riding, biker bars and hipster joints ensues. It’s an authentic mini-tour of Downtown, a social excursion suited for those not wanting packed crowds of Fridays and Saturdays, or simply your mid-month exercise. After all, walking and stumbling are physical activities... and damn good ones, we say.
