Thanks to winter's toil, a fresh new crop of patios has sprung up in recent weeks, offering shaded brunches, breezy cocktail hours and romantic, candlelit al fresco dining. Remember your sunscreen.
Beso Restaurant & Lounge - Bustle-adjacent
It would be difficult to miss the newest edition to Eva Longoria's nightlife and dining operation at Crystals. Reminiscent of a Spanish sidewalk cafe, the lipstick-red parasols and upscale, marble patio furniture beckon for a leisurely round of Beso's signature sangria. Serving a full menu 5:30 p.m. to at least 11 nightly, the 50-seat patio is fully shaded by the neighboring buildings after 2 p.m. and provides views of Aria's porte-cochère, water feature and decorative trees from its place between the casino and mall. A funky fog machine will keep diners cool as the mercury climbs — a perfect pre/post for CityCenter's bountiful day — and nightlife.
Caña Latin Kitchen & Bar - Up in the air
After-work drinks, happy hour and date night are a breeze on any of Cana's three second-story patios, which accommodate 20 to 40 guests each. Seating includes dark granite tables and even one long communal table. Shaded from 2 p.m. on, Cana opens 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. nightly and catches gentle breezes off the always-bustling Town Square green. Thursday through Saturday, your food and beverage cost matches the hour: 5 p.m.? $5! Soon enough, Sunday brunch will be served on the patios, too.
Ferraro's Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar - Fully-loaded
By far the best al fresco opportunity to emerge this summer is at the new Ferraro's location, where the recently unveiled new patio comes complete with fire pit, dining for 60, an outdoor bar, fans, umbrellas, speakers, sofas, lounge chairs, ottomans and even a bocce ball court, all the better to enjoy Wednesday's Food & Music industry party offering 50 percent off all food 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Daily happy hour occurs 4 to 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. The patio is open 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. and is equipped with misters to stave off the midday heat.
Honorable mentions:
Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse — Smoke 'em if you got 'em
While venerable Del Frisco's is not a new addition to the Vegas dining scene, the new cigar patio is. The 24-seat open-air venue opens daily at 4:30 p.m., is shaded and candle-lit, and serves a full menu outdoors for those who enjoy a nice cigar after dinner without having to decamp. Opening April 24.
Rhumbar — Pimp that patio
Approaching its second Vegas summer, the Caribbean-chic Rhumbar cigar lounge welcomed in early April a slick new patio bar courtesy of Moet & Hennessy. It's an ideal venue for Moet & Chandon's new Bubble Wednesdays, a stylish 6-8 p.m. happy hour hosted by Mix 94.1-FM and featuring $5 Moet shooters, $10 glasses of Moet, $50 Moet bottles, and $5 Belvedere cocktails. Raffles and giveaways offer chances to win prizes including designer accessories, Sugar Factory Couture Pops and other gifts from The Mirage. The lounge and patio are open from 11 a.m. until at least midnight daily.
