My other truck is a bumper sticker

Image

We’re a country defined by golden arches, the Nike swoosh and the Apple’s apple. We’re grouped and segregated by our bumper sticker vernacular. We heart things, brake for Jesus, think globally but act locally, visualize whirled peas and would rather be hunting. Artist Jesse Smigel explores our idioms and relationship with pop culture and iconography with his clever bumper stickers that state, “I Christ Christ,” “I crucifix bowling” and “I hamburger physics.” Smigel sells the stickers ($2) at Blackbird Studios and sets aside the profits to rent a downtown billboard showcasing the best-selling sticker, which Smigel says is turning out to be “My other truck is Jesus.”
