Tiny Little Rant: Cannapalooza canceled?

Tiny Rant Image

Cannapalooza, a marijuana-themed convention at Mandalay Bay that would have only elevated our “What happens here, stays here” reputation, has been canceled after organizers said they felt enormous pressure from Metro. A bigger case of hypocrisy is not likely to occur this year. Debauchery of every kind happens in Sin City on a regular basis, and it’s well-fostered by our tourism industry, but this particular type of debauchery—that would be the extremely low-key kind that makes Adam Sandler movies funny—which would have brought in 50,000 tourists is off limits. We’re the 11th drunkest city in the nation, and police are worried about a few people, most of whom would be staying on the Strip and not driving anywhere, getting high? The neutering of Vegas continues.
