Green Valley lunchers can add a new spot to their lineup, Panera-upgrade Rachel’s Kitchen.

Like the restaurant’s original location in Summerlin, the new outpost housed in Tacone’s former space at The District offers a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu that can be vaguely summed up as something for everyone-who-doesn’t-mind-paying-$10-for-a-sandwich.

Restaurant Guide

Rachel's Kitchen Summerlin
3645 Town Center Drive, 459-6789.
Rachel's Kitchen The District
2265 Village Walk Dr., The District. Henderson, 522-7887.

Those who fall into that category will find a café stocked with freshly prepared sandwiches, salads, wraps, burgers and pastas. At Rachel’s they actually cook food, so when you order that Caesar salad with chicken, they’ll be grilling a chicken breast, not just grabbing some pre-sliced meat out of the fridge.

Ten salads come in massive white bowls, big enough for two lunches — if you can stop eating. Sandwich options include a grilled cheese with Gruyere, cheddar, Parmesan and roasted tomatoes and the stocked 440 Sandwich made with grilled chicken, goat cheese, avocado and roasted red peppers and tomatoes for $10.50. All sandwiches, wraps and burgers are served with a mixed green salad, fries or onion rings. Rachel’s Kitchen also serves beer, mimosas and wine by the glass and bottle, perfect for when it’s been that kind of day and you just need that kind of lunch.
